Fya Fox - Body Review

Ireland’s hottest new female singer/songwriter Fya Fox is back on the scene cooking up an even bigger musical storm with the recent release of her stunning second single ‘BODY’, the follow up to her debut track ‘White Lies’ last November.

‘BODY’ is a track which is infused with emotion and inspired by the idea of moving on from a past acquaintance and those moments when you’re just so over it but somehow there are still little moments when something resembles that relationship or you even spot them with someone new! We can feel the emotions coming rushing back in Fya’s lyrics:

“2am in the morning, trying to figure it out”. 

“Call it quits you moved on, now I’m here on my own searching for a feeling”. 

Although this track is lyrically a sad anthem, FYA has shown a different sound to her debut release as this single is more of an upbeat side of things for her musically! She really knows how to captivate the listener with her music and lyrics so effortlessly as well as the ability to add incredible feelings, emotion and energy to a track. She is a total pro at setting the mood of a song. It’s a sad banger that touches your soul in the most beautiful way that it just makes you want to get up and dance. It is certainly an anthemic track that we can already picture being played in stadiums, it gives us big Adele vibes but an Irish version of Adele!

Fox is inspired by electronic pop. Her influences range from the likes of London Grammar, Banks and Lana Del Rey, in fact this tune really sounds like something that queen Lana Del Rey had written herself! These influences create the most wonderful blend of tones which has led to the creation of Fox’s distinctive and stunning vocals.

Overall, the track is hauntingly beautiful, powerful, captivating and emotive as Fox is a huge fan of expressing emotive themes in her music. Fya has not disappointed with this release and has proven that she only wants to be bigger and better and we personally think it’s only going to be onwards and upwards for her, we’re huge fans of Fya’s music here at MusicBox PR and we’re very excited about what the future has in store for her!

Since Fya’s debut release of ‘White Lies’, we knew something was special about her, having gained interest from HotPress, GoldenPlec, FlavourMag, The Last Mixtape and radio play on TodayFM, iRado and BBC’S Across The Line with Gemma Bradey, we have no doubt that this girl is going to be a future star. She is already making some noise and we can’t wait for more music already!

There really is some incredible young women in this country making music, we can’t take this off repeat in our playlists! If you are a fan of slow driven alt-pop then Fya Fox is just up your street.
