Belfast based hard-rock band Minor Inconvenience’s debut EP Hubris, is an excellent introduction collection of tracks to showcase their effortless musical talents.

Fusing elements of progressive and stoner rock to create a rich and sonically diverse catalogue of music, Hubris, is a fascinating listen from the first note on ‘Chrysalis’ that brings the EP immediately to life.

The title-track has a great build-up before the vocals are introduced on the sensual, rocky tune. It’s a great song and perfect track to name the EP after.

‘Limbo’ has infectious immediate dance vibes with an amazing instrumentation that will be a fantastic song to see played live.

As the EP progresses, it showcases the challenging yet beautiful tracks that in-turn is a rewarding endeavour having now released this breathtaking project. With great vocals that are powerfully sharp blending wonderfully with the instrumentation.

‘Purgatory’ starts off slow, bringing in the music a little different from the rest of the EP adding something different to the other tracks. There’s a smoothness present before the build-up.

‘Over the Top’ closes out the EP with further anticipation demanding the listener to hit the replay button.

The band is primarily inspired by bands such as Muse and Queens of the Stone Age alongside a large variety of diverse artists which is displayed in an aesthetically pleasing and tasteful manner.

Hubris, is a stand-out debut EP with promising talents and excitement on future music releases from Minor Inconvenience. They are certainly something new and refreshing to the Irish music scene.

Minor Inconvenience are bassist and vocalist Chris Gilhooly, guitarist David Campbell, guitarist Robbie Connery, and drummer James Nelson.
